Adventure at the Capitol in Oregon

Guess where we were yesterday?

The Capitol! Despite the cloudy, grey sky and occasional rain, visiting Salem was an amazing and unique experience that we both enjoyed. In the afternoon, we joined our school's rally to preserve virtual schools and freedom of school choice. Then we toured the Capitol building -- everything from the Rotunda to the Governor's office! Not only did we get to explore the historically-rich building, see the Senate floor rooms, the House of Representatives meeting rooms, but we also got to meet our representatives in the House and Senate!

The Senator for our district was especially friendly.  He invited us into his office where we talked about choice of schools, virtual schools, and who we were. We shared our story with him and had a great time. Before we left, he gave us some goodies and invited us to spend a day with him in the future to follow him around the Capitol, attend all his meetings, and watch him work. Numb with excitement, we scheduled a day in June and we both cannot wait!

Maybe we both have a future in politics... who knows?
