Something To Mark Your Calendars For!

Most kids, including us, are preparing for spring break -- a week to relax and laze around, completely forget about endless homework, and rebuild stamina for the next half of the semester. Hooray for spring break! A lot will be happening before and after our week of freedom...

Crossing Over: A Musical Haggadah

You can still purchase tickets to see Crossing Over this weekend. This musical interpretation of the Israelite's exodus from Egypt is now available on a CD. The music for this event is written, like Rabbi Alan Berg said, with "jaw-dropping power".

"Ida Rae's songs in Hebrew will make you break down in tears," Ashley says. "There's music that will touch your heart and soul, music that you can't help but clap along to... it will all be there!" The songs in Crossing Over are written in both English and Hebrew, and they will be accompanied with art by Leonard Baskin.

Ten Grands

This is a show you cannot miss. Michael Allen Harrison, the man who started these spectacular shows, said, "One of the primary sources of fundraising for The Snowman Foundation is the "Ten Grands" concert, a one-of-a-kind event which takes place in spring. A total of ten pianos and ten pianists fill the stage at Portland's Arlene Schnitzer Concert Hall. Soon after, the auditorium fills with the music of these magnificent instruments, thrilling audiences with their majesty."
That just about sums it up!

10 Grands

Cayla and Ashley will be playing at one of the ten Steinways in "Ten Grands for Kids", a production similar to "Ten Grands", but kids are playing the pianos for a huge audience of children. The talented cast from "Ten Grands for Kids" will play a number in "Ten Grands" -- Rolling in the Deep. "When I first heard ten pianos playing all at once," Cayla says with a smile. "I almost fell off my chair. It was... stunning!"
